Job summary

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain the day-to-day operations and assume responsibility for maintaining the property’s physical assets. The role involves inspecting buildings and equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety and readiness of units for new occupants.

The position requires mechanical and electrical maintenance abilities, plus good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills to handle repairs and fixtures.
• Knowledge of electricity to diagnose problems and perform minor repairs.
• General maintenance skills across building systems.
• Verbal and written communication for effective delivery of information.
• Prior experience as a Service Technician or similar role.
• HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for repairs and improvements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Implement maintenance policies and standards to prevent misuse of property appliances.
• Ensure properties are safe for occupants, visitors, and workers.
• Clean and prepare vacated buildings and rooms for new occupants.
• Check electrical wiring for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Check safety systems and devices for monthly operation.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
