Job summary

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain day-to-day operations and preserve the property’s physical assets. The role involves inspecting and repairing buildings, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety for occupants and workers.

You will respond to emergencies during on-call rotations, manage supplies, and support building operations with attention to detail and reliability.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills to perform minor repairs and fixtures.
• Knowledge of electricity to diagnose problems and perform minor repairs.
• General maintenance skills across building systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication for clear information delivery.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for repairs or improvements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Enforce maintenance policies and prevent misuse of appliances.
• Ensure properties are safe for occupants and visitors.
• Prepare vacated units for new residents.
• Check electrical wiring for safety and code compliance.
• Test safety systems monthly.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
