Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician in Spring Grove, VA to service apartments and community facilities. You’ll handle requests, repair appliances, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, and prepare units for new residents.

You’ll also support residents and manage vendor tasks to keep amenities safe and functional. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in maintenance, refrigeration certification or ability to obtain within 90 days, a valid driver's license, and

Qualifications

• 1–3 years maintenance experience preferred.
• Refrigeration certification required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests including repairs to appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, gates, pools, and general community facilities.
• Respond to emergency calls during evenings, weekends, and holidays to resolve urgent maintenance issues.
• Prepare vacant units by completing all tasks required to make apartments rent-ready.
• Maintain facilities and inventory by keeping shops organized, stocking parts, and ensuring all amenity areas remain clean and operational.
• Provide resident support through professional communication, addressing complaints, delivering notices, and assisting with resident events.
• Handle administrative and contractor tasks such as logging service requests, updating databases, and monitoring vendor performance.
