Job summary

Port Royal Apartments in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting tasks across the property. You will complete maintenance requests timely, participate in preventive maintenance, and support vendor coordination while upholding safety and quality across our communities.

The role requires HVAC certification and at least two years of residential maintenance experience; on-call shifts are required.

Qualifications

• HVAC certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of residential/apartment maintenance experience.
• General maintenance skills include A/C, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, electronics, drywall installation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general maintenance of the exterior and interior of the property building
• Complete work orders promptly, including on-call requests
• Demonstrate the ability to resolve maintenance issues to prevent a recurrence
• Maintain inventory to ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available on-site
• Inspect and test machinery and maintenance equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe environment; report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and recommend corrective action
• Partner with external vendors, contractors, and other maintenance team members on special projects
• Perform other duties as assigned
