Job summary

Brookside Properties is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician for Branchwater Apartments in Birmingham, AL. You will tackle HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance to keep the community safe and welcoming.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year apartment maintenance experience, EPA Type II or Universal certification, and availability for after-hours on-call rotations. We offer competitive pay, bonuses, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ year of apartment, residential, or related maintenance experience.
• EPA Certification – Type II or Universal REQUIRED.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to participate in an after-hours/on-call rotation.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests promptly and professionally.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and general maintenance issues.
• Complete apartment make-readies and turns.
• Perform preventive maintenance and property inspections.
• Maintain grounds, amenities, and common areas.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls.
• Participate in the property’s on-call rotation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-maintained community.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance supplies.
