Do you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and seeing the results of a job well done?
Are you someone who would rather fix a problem yourself than spend the day waiting for someone else to handle it?
If you take pride in your skills, have a strong work ethic, and want to build a future with an established property management company, we'd like to meet you.
Pitt Property Management, a well-established property management company serving Greenville and Pitt County, is looking for a talented, dependable, and motivated Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team.
We're not looking for someone to simply coordinate contractors or oversee maintenance from behind a desk. We're looking for a hands-on professional who knows how to make repairs, solve problems, take initiative, and keep our properties looking and operating their best.
Some jobs require outside contractors, and we understand that. But we want someone who has the skills, confidence, and initiative to handle a wide range of everyday maintenance and repair work independently.
You’ll play an important role in maintaining our residential rental properties and helping provide a positive living experience for our residents.
Your responsibilities will include:
Hands-on repairs: Diagnose and complete common plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliance, and general property maintenance tasks within your qualifications.
Apartment turnovers and make-readies: Prepare apartments and rental properties for incoming residents, including repairs, painting, touch‑ups, fixture replacements, and ensuring homes are move‑in ready.
Preventative maintenance: Identify and address problems before they become costly repairs.
HVAC maintenance: Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance consistent with your training and required certifications.
Resident service: Serve as a friendly, professional community assistant and a trusted point of contact between residents and property management.
Problem‑solving: Evaluate maintenance requests, determine what can be repaired in‑house, and coordinate outside contractors when specialized work is necessary.
Property care: Help maintain clean, safe, attractive, and well‑functioning properties.
Emergency response: Participate in an on‑call rotation with additional bonus compensation.
This is an active, hands‑on position for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and solving real problems every day.
Our ideal candidate has:
3–5 years of relevant hands‑on maintenance experience , preferably in apartments, residential rental properties, or property management.
Practical working knowledge of plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.
Experience preparing apartments or rental homes for new residents.
The ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs independently.
Good communication skills and a friendly, respectful approach to working with residents.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize maintenance requests.
A dependable work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.
A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
The flexibility to participate in a compensated on‑call rotation.
Additional strengths we'd value: HVAC troubleshooting experience, EPA certification, appliance repair experience, and familiarity with property management maintenance systems.
You don't need to know everything. But you should know your way around the tools, be confident in your abilities, and be eager to keep learning.
We believe skilled, hardworking people deserve to be recognized and rewarded.
Pitt Property Management offers:
$22–$26 per hour , based on demonstrated experience, technical ability, and qualifications.
Generous vehicle allowance.
Company gas card.
Health insurance.
Additional on‑call bonus compensation.
Opportunities to develop your skills, take on greater responsibility, and grow professionally.
A supportive team that values initiative, reliability, and quality work.
We're looking for more than someone to fill an open position. We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our company's future.
At Pitt Property Management, maintenance isn't just about fixing things. It's about taking pride in the properties we manage, building positive relationships with residents, and contributing to a company that values dependable people and excellent service.
We appreciate employees who take initiative, work hard, solve problems, and care about the quality of their work.
