CVG Properties’ Ascend at Red Mountain in Mesa, AZ seeks a skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our hands-on team. You will perform make-ready turns, basic repairs, and resident-ready upkeep, leveraging your own tools as needed.

You’ll work alongside a maintenance team and Community Manager to keep units and grounds maintained, respond to service requests, and help ensure a safe, attractive living environment for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience in residential/apartment maintenance or related field.
• General maintenance, HVAC and carpentry skills.
• EPA Section 608 Certification preferred (or ability to obtain within defined hire period).
• Yardi experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready turns including painting, repairs, appliance testing, mechanical work and carpentry.
• Report maintenance concerns to Community Manager.
• Respond to service work orders and assist maintenance staff.
• Answer after-hours emergency calls on a rotating schedule.
• Maintain grounds, amenities and exteriors; assist with light landscaping and pressure washing.
• Interact with residents, staff and vendors to complete maintenance tasks.

Apartment Maintenance Technician - Ascend at Red Mountain (Mesa, AZ)

CVG Properties is actively searching for a skilled and enthusiastic Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at Ascend at Red Mountain, a 154-unit community in Mesa, AZ built in 2016.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work alongside the Maintenance Team and Community Manager to provide excellent customer service to our residents, keep the grounds and buildings well maintained, and prepare apartments for future move-ins. This is a hands-on position and requires some of your own tools. Previous apartment maintenance experience is preferred.

What You’ll Do

• Complete make-ready turns, including painting, repairs, appliance testing, mechanical work, and carpentry, and report any maintenance concerns on appliances, HVAC, electrical, and more (e.g., replacing light bulbs in common areas and breezeways, replacing window screens, replacing air filters, moving appliances)
• Report maintenance concerns on available apartments, models, and common areas to the Community Manager
• Respond to service work orders to make technical repairs or replacements, and assist the maintenance staff as needed
• Answer and resolve after-hours emergency calls on a rotating schedule with the Maintenance Team
• Maintain meticulous upkeep of grounds, amenities, and building exteriors, including minor landscaping duties as needed and pressure washing
• Interact and communicate effectively with residents, property staff, and vendors to complete maintenance duties and requests
• Observe and promote safety and risk management in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policy
• Promote resident satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, and interact courteously and professionally with current and prospective residents at all times
• Conduct pre-move-in and post-move-out apartment inspections and ensure timely completion of quality unit turns

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1+ years of experience in residential/apartment property management or a directly related field
• General maintenance, HVAC, and carpentry skills
• EPA Section 608 Certification preferred (or ability to obtain within a defined period of hire)
• Yardi experience preferred
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to others
• Ability to communicate in English - verbally and in writing - sufficient to respond to on-call and after-hours service calls, interact effectively with residents, and accurately complete on-call and site inspection logs
• Valid driver's license, satisfactory motor vehicle record, and current auto insurance required
• Compliance with all safety requirements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to work evenings and weekends if/when necessary (including on-call rotation)
