Job summary

Stone Mountain Management is seeking an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to support our Houston-area communities. This full-time role assists the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of our properties and resident comfort.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing appliances, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical work, and assisting with make-ready units.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• On-call coverage for emergencies after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
• Physical strength to lift/move up to 50 lbs and operate common tools.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders for apartment unit repairs.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair appliances, including HVAC systems.
• Handle plumbing, insulation, roofing, pool maintenance, flooring.
• Do basic carpentry, painting, and drywall repair.
• Work on boiler, gas, and electric water heater systems.
• Perform electrical repairs.
• Assist with make-ready processes.

Apartment Maintenance Technician

Full Time Houston, TX, US

Salary Range: $18.00 To $29.00 Hourly

Stone Mountain Management is a privately owned, multi-family property management firm. We are seeking an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team of property management professionals in the Houston area. The Maintenance Technician's role is to assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of our apartment communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Completion of work orders for apartment unit repairs.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• diagnose and repair appliances
• A/C and Heating systems
• Plumbing, insulating, roofing, pool maintenance, flooring
• Basic carpentry, painting, and drywall repair
• boiler, gas, and electric water heater systems
• electrical repairs
• Assisting with the make-ready process

Requirements for the Position:

• Requires legal authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
• On-call coverage for emergencies after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
• Ability to respond and remedy maintenance issues promptly.
• Physical strength necessary to lift and/or move up to 50lbs
• Sufficient dexterity to operate commonly used tools

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma and certification from an accredited trade school are preferred.
• EPA Type I, Type II, or Universal certification preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• 3 to 5 years of prior related experience in a facilities maintenance field.
