Job summary

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to uphold the day-to-day operations and safeguard the property's physical assets across our communities. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspect buildings, and address repairs to keep residents safe and comfortable.

Responsibilities include inspecting wiring, safety systems, and appliances, maintaining inventory, and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical skills for minor repairs and fixtures.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical problems and carry out minor repairs.
  • General maintenance skills to support day-to-day operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication for effective information delivery.
  • HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for needed repairs and improvements.
  • Perform necessary preventative maintenance and repairs on the property as needed.
  • Implement maintenance policies and standards to prevent misuse of property appliances.
  • Ensure that properties are safe and avoid any danger to their occupants, visitors, and workers.
  • Clean and prepare vacated buildings and rooms for new occupants to move in.
  • Check electrical wiring for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Check safety systems and devices for operational effectiveness monthly.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance problems that may require attention outside of normal working hours.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures.
  • Knowledge of electricity to diagnose electrical problems and carry out minor repairs.
  • General maintenance skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills for effective delivery of information.
  • Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role.
  • HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift to 70 pounds without assistance.
  • Dexterity and attention to detail.

Salary Range

$18 - $20 USD
