Job summary

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain day-to-day operations and care for the property’s physical assets across our Maryland communities. You will inspect buildings, perform preventative maintenance, and address repairs to keep residents safe and comfortable.

This role requires practical mechanical skills and knowledge of electrical systems, with on-call rotations and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures.
• Knowledge of electricity to diagnose electrical problems and carry out minor repairs.
• General maintenance skills and ability to operate maintenance equipment.
• Verbal and written communication skills for effective information delivery.
• Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role.

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain the day-to-day operations and assume responsibility for maintaining the property's physical assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for needed repairs and improvements.
• Perform necessary preventative maintenance and repairs on the property as needed.
• Implement maintenance policies and standards to prevent misuse of property appliances.
• Ensure that properties are safe and avoid any danger to their occupants, visitors, and workers.
• Clean and prepare vacated buildings and rooms for new occupants to move in.
• Check electrical wiring for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Check safety systems and devices for operational effectiveness monthly.
• Participate in the on-call rotation. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance problems that may require attention outside of normal working hours.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures.

• Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role.
• HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift to 70 pounds without assistance.
• Dexterity and attention to detail.

Salary Range

$24 — $26 USD
