Job summary

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to sustain daily property operations and protect the integrity of our assets. You will perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety checks to ensure safe, well-maintained homes for residents.

The role requires mechanical and electrical know-how, solid communication, and physical stamina to lift up to 70 pounds. Prior maintenance experience and HVAC/CMRP certification are preferred, with opportunities to grow within a values-driven

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills to handle repairs and fixtures.
• Knowledge of electricity to diagnose problems and perform minor repairs.
• General maintenance skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills for clear information exchange.
• Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role.
• HVAC or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and equipment for needed repairs and improvements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Implement maintenance policies to prevent misuse of property appliances.
• Ensure properties are safe for occupants, visitors, and workers.
• Clean and prepare vacated units for new occupancy.
• Check electrical wiring for code compliance.
• Test safety systems monthly for reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain the day-to-day operations and assume responsibility for maintaining the property's physical assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for needed repairs and improvements.
• Perform necessary preventative maintenance and repairs on the property as needed.
• Implement maintenance policies and standards to prevent misuse of property appliances.
• Ensure that properties are safe and avoid any danger to their occupants, visitors, and workers.
• Clean and prepare vacated buildings and rooms for new occupants to move in.
• Check electrical wiring for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Check safety systems and devices for operational effectiveness monthly.
• Participate in the on-call rotation. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance problems that may require attention outside of normal working hours.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
