Job summary

McKinley Companies is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at communities in Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti, MI. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing building systems, performing upkeep on interiors and exteriors, and maintaining overall property standards.

Responsibilities include handling HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and appliance maintenance tasks, with on-call duties on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or trades.
• Technical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry and drywall.
• EPA cert (EPA Universal) preferred but not required.
• On-call duties including weekends and holidays required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform repairs across areas like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall, appliances, carpeting and exterior maintenance.
• Ensure property meets company standards and applicable laws.

Job description

McKinley is looking for an Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at one of our communities located in Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti, MI.

Compensation: $19-28/hour + on call bonuses

Position Information

As the Maintenance and Grounds expert of your community you will be responsible for completing work orders to maintain and repair physical structures of buildings and grounds.

• Diagnose problems and make repairs in areas such as, but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, dry wall repair, appliance maintenance, carpet cleaning and exterior structure maintenance
• Ensure the physical aspects of the property meet the company standards and applicable laws
• Keeping our apartment community in a clean and orderly condition

Position Requirements

• Experience working in maintenance, groundskeeping, or other trades
• Skills in one or more technical areas desired including: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry and drywall
• EPA Universal Certification preferred but not required
• On-call duty, including weekends and holidays required
• A valid drivers license and reliable transportation required
