Job summary

MAA is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Supervisor in Phoenix to lead the maintenance team, coordinate repairs, and ensure apartments and facilities meet company standards. You will work under a Property Manager to keep communities in top condition and available for leasing.

The role requires 3–5 years of multifamily maintenance experience, HVAC proficiency, EPA licenses, and a valid driver's license; CAMT license is required for Florida locations as noted during hiring.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with 3–5 years of multifamily property maintenance or related experience.
  • HVAC experience required.
  • EPA Type II or EPA Universal license required.
  • For Florida locations, CAMT license required at time of hire or by the next professional examination.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
  • 1–3 years of Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the maintenance team to repair and maintain property facilities and apartment units.
  • Provide prompt and courteous responses to service requests.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of market-ready apartments to meet leasing demand.
  • Ensure property appearance meets or exceeds standards.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and developing assigned maintenance staff.

The Apartment Maintenance Supervisor reports to a Property Manager and works to ensure apartment homes and facilities for an assigned apartment community are in good working order and maintained to standards for MAA.

Primary responsibilities include coordinating the maintenance team to ensure the repair and maintenance of property facilities and apartment units; prompt and courteous responses to service requests; an adequate supply of market ready apartments to meet leasing demand; property appearance which meets or exceeds standards.

The Apartment Maintenance Supervisor assists with hiring, training, and developing assigned maintenance staff which may include painters and/or landscaping staff.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED and three to five years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair required, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • HVAC experience required
  • EPA Type II or EPA Universal license required
  • For Florida locations, CAMT license required at time of hire or by the next professional examination and licensing opportunity.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence required.
  • One to three years of Supervisory experience preferred

Property Manager for an MAA Community leads all aspects of community life and above all – quality customer service. The Maintenance Supervisor leads and coordinates the maintenance team through repairs and maintenance of property facilities and apartments. Assistant Property Managers support the operations and financial performance of the community, handle the collections process, and assist with leasing. In other words, they wear several hats! An Apartment Maintenance Technician performs maintenance and repairs to ensure apartments and facilities are in top shape. A special role for an MAA community, a Leasing Consultant supports leasing operations, interactions and communication with residents, and assists with community events and marketing activities.
