Job summary

MountainCreek Properties Management in Charleston, WV is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team and ensure reliable operation of our facilities and equipment.

You will develop preventive maintenance, supervise daily activities, manage inventory, train staff, and maintain safety and quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, budgeting awareness, and proven problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Inspect facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address potential issues.
  • Establish and enforce maintenance procedures, protocols, and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Train, mentor, and develop maintenance staff to enhance team performance.
  • Oversee contractor performance and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Monitor budget compliance and implement cost-control measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and inspections.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team and ensure the efficient operation of our facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Inspect facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address potential issues.
  • Establish and enforce maintenance procedures, protocols, and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Train, mentor, and develop maintenance staff to enhance team performance.
  • Oversee contractor performance and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Monitor budget compliance and implement cost-control measures.

  • Cell phones are required for on-call maintenance.
  • Ability to independently lift/carry supplies or equipment up to 65 lbs
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Preferred Skills
  • Experience developing and managing preventative maintenance programs.
  • Familiarity with budget management and cost-control practices.
  • Ability to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in HVAC, Electrical, Carpentry, Problem solving and Scheduling with outside vendors
