Job summary

Foundation Risk Partners in Austin, TX is seeking an Underwriter to join the Apartment Insurance Consultants team. The Underwriter will work under the Director of Underwriting, providing technical expertise, support and service while collaborating with the Account Management team.

Responsibilities include reviewing carrier renewals, gathering data for RFPs, analyzing proposals for accuracy and competitiveness, and staying current on market trends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of property underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial coverages and underwriting principles.
• Professional designations (CPCU, AU, CIC, ARM or similar) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Insurance or related field preferred.
• Well-versed in insurance coverages, policy language and underwriting guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Review carrier renewals and maintain carrier relationships.
• Gather account and historical data; prepare and distribute RFPs.
• Review carrier proposals for accuracy, completeness and competitiveness.
• Maintain knowledge of market trends, conditions and product innovations.
• Interact professionally with colleagues, clients, carriers and partners.
• Perform underwriting, quoting, account servicing and loss control recommendations.
