Job summary

Cohere is seeking an experienced APAC Communications lead to stand up and scale our regional PR and corporate communications function. You will partner with the global Corporate Communications team to craft messaging for governments and enterprises in the most regulated industries.

You’ll hire and lead regional teams, manage agencies, and build crisis-ready processes while aligning with Cohere’s mission to drive trusted AI adoption across APAC. Remote-friendly with global offices.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of in-house corporate communications experience, ideally in fast-paced tech/AI environments.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to hire, onboard, and manage PR agencies.
• Experience with pre-IPO communications.
• Interest or experience in policy and regulatory communications.
• Exceptional writing with ability to distill complex topics into clear narratives.
• Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills and project management, with bias for action.

Responsibilities

• Build the APAC PR and Communications function from the ground up, hiring managers and agencies across key territories.
• Implement regional PR and corporate communications strategies aligned with company goals, values, and brand.
• Collaborate with PR, marketing, sales, and stakeholders to craft messaging supporting business priorities and market positioning.
• Develop and execute rapid response capabilities in each region.
• Oversee high-impact communications forums including executive speaking engagements and industry events.
• Leverage AI to enhance content ideation, creation, and scaling within the team.
• Manage APAC channel ecosystem across earned, owned, and employee communications; innovate with formats.
