Traveling Equipment Operator

Pay: $20/hr. depending on experience

Job Description Summary

The successful candidate will work in a team environment with co-workers and managers.

  1. Operate various heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and backhoes.
  2. Follow manuals and safety procedures for the equipment operated.
  3. Conduct daily equipment checks and complete the Daily Equipment Checklist.
  4. Communicate with the Project Manager/Foreman about daily job specifications and operate equipment safely.
  5. Perform pre-start procedures, including checking fluid levels and equipment condition.
  6. Coordinate with other equipment operators on site.
  7. Ensure equipment is accessible to the Equipment Mover when necessary.
  8. Maintain cleanliness of equipment for safety and public image.
  9. Follow directions and perform additional duties as assigned.
  10. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Work Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  2. Work in a safety-sensitive environment.
  3. Pass a physical exam confirming fitness for work.
  4. Provide valid documentation for I-9 verification.
  5. Maintain professionalism with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
  6. Report to work on time and be willing to work long hours when required.
  7. Adhere strictly to safety procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  8. Work collaboratively and assist team members as needed.
  9. Possess a valid driver's license with a good record; may require a CDL.
  10. Be at least 18 years old.
Education and Experience

  2. Have knowledge of materials and equipment relevant to the role.
  3. Preferably have related construction experience.
