Job summary

Stevenson School in Pebble Beach seeks a Spanish Teacher, Upper Division, to start by or before November 2, 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate native or near-native Spanish proficiency and possess content expertise to teach up to AP Spanish Literature.

The role includes advisory and co-curricular duties, leveraging technology such as STAMP and Canvas, and engaging with students beyond the classroom.

Qualifications

• Initial qualification: bachelor’s degree in or related to target language; master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience teaching world languages at similar grade level.
• Strong English language speaking and writing skills.
• Experience with TPRS and CI methods to foster language acquisition.
• Ability to teach multiple grade levels daily.
• Excellent classroom management.
• Demonstrated confidence with instructional technology and tools such as STAMP and a learning management system like Canvas.
• Professional development to support excellence in Spanish teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to five sections of Spanish.
• Provide timely feedback and grading so students understand their grade and can improve.
• Set clear expectations and remain accessible to students.
• Support learning with diverse pedagogical approaches for various learning styles.
• Develop students' critical thinking and socio-emotional skills.
