H. T. PROF Group is seeking an AP/CP board-certified pathologist for a full-time, on-site role at the Coppell laboratory, with regional travel to hospital-based laboratories across Texas. The position emphasizes high-coverage pathology services and collaboration with clinical teams.

The ideal candidate has MD or DO credentials, AP/CP board certification, unrestricted licensure, and 3+ years in a community hospital setting, with willingness to travel and support multiple sites.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Board Certification in AP/CP required.
• License — unrestricted medical license in applicable state(s) or ability to obtain licensure.
• Minimum of three years pathology experience in a community hospital setting preferred.
• Experience with surgical pathology, frozen sections, and cytology preferred.
• Cytopathology or gynecologic pathology subspecialty board certification a plus.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout Texas for regional coverage.
• Comfort with on-site lab duties and travel-based hospital coverage.
• Strong communication and collaborative work with clinicians and lab teams.
• Familiarity with CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and other regs.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic interpretation and sign-out of surgical pathology, frozen section pathology, and/or cytology specimens.
• Provide pathology coverage for hospital laboratories across Texas with flexibility for regional needs.
• Perform gross examinations of surgical tissues as needed.
• Consult with physicians regarding findings, test utilization, and diagnostic support.
• Provide timely pathology reports to treating and referring physicians.
• Participate in quality control, quality assurance, and infection control initiatives.
• Engage in proficiency testing, meetings, and quality improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with leadership, staff, and hospitals to ensure seamless pathology services.
• Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, state and federal regulations.
