Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, human services, behavioral health, public administration, or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree and/or professional behavioral health licensure preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health, civil court, legal, social service, case management, or other multidisciplinary systems strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of serious mental illness (SMI), civil commitment and Assisted Outpatient Treatment processes, confidentiality requirements, person-centered and recovery-oriented practices, and coordination among courts, providers, hospitals, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, communication, documentation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple court-related timelines, cases, hearings, orders, and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated Project Court Coordinator for the SAMHSA-funded Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Program and maintain required Level of Effort.
  • Serve as primary operational liaison between Aspire BHDD's AOT Program and civil/probate courts, judges, court personnel, providers, hospitals, attorneys, and community partners.
  • Coordinate civil court components of AOT in line with Georgia statutes, SAMHSA requirements, policies, grant requirements, and protocols.
  • Coordinate AOT referrals and court processes from identification to discharge or expiration of orders.
  • Facilitate communication among court, treatment team, referring entities, hospitals, attorneys, participants, and families as appropriate.
  • Screen and coordinate referrals to determine eligibility and facilitate timely clinical and legal review.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure evaluations, assessments, and documentation for court processes.
  • Maintain an organized tracking system for referrals, petitions, hearings, orders, deadlines, and participant status.
  • Schedule and prepare for AOT civil court hearings and communicate requirements to involved parties.
  • Attend AOT-related hearings and serve as a program representative to support court-treatment coordination.
  • Monitor participant status and communicate changes to the team and director.
  • Collaborate with the AOT team to resolve barriers to treatment and court processes.
  • Promote information sharing while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Contribute to CQI, data collection, grant reporting, and protocol development for AOT.
  • Maintain trauma-informed, culturally responsive, recovery-oriented approaches.
