Sourcing Specialist
On-Site Role - Honolulu, Hawaii
Compensation: $34.45 - $34.50 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our 24/7 Material Management team as an Associate AOG Sourcing Specialist, where you will play a critical role in the FAA-compliant procurement, management, and delivery of aircraft materials, parts, equipment, and supplies. In this position, you will process purchase, loan, and exchange orders for aircraft and engine parts to support a range of fleet requirements, including AOGs (Aircraft on Ground), DMIs, scheduled maintenance events, and engineering orders. You will be responsible for soliciting and evaluating supplier proposals, negotiating pricing, managing internal and external parts shipping, and maintaining detailed records. As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, act as a key point of contact, and ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing solutions. This role requires strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and a strong sense of financial responsibility are essential. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, experience in supply chain management or airline/MRO procurement, and knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and materials management processes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Create and manage purchase, loan, and exchange orders for aircraft and engine parts to support fleet requirements, including AOGs, DMIs, scheduled maintenance, and engineering orders
- Oversee internal and external parts shipping to ensure supplier and delivery commitments are met
- Maintain detailed records for orders, requisitions, and part histories
- Act as AOG subject matter expert in cross-functional meetings and serve as point of contact between departments
- Evaluate and select suppliers in collaboration with maintenance and engineering, considering price, quality, service, availability, and reliability
- Expedite critical orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery for AOG and work stoppage situations
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure order delivery dates are met and minimize discrepancies
- Effectively manage assigned commodity categories
- Support achievement of annual corporate, Tech Ops, and Supply Chain priorities
- Negotiate cost reductions using quote analysis and benchmarking
- Utilize ERP, e-commerce, and web-based systems for order processing, data extraction, and analysis
- Prepare reports and review summary invoices for accuracy, resolving discrepancies and ensuring payment terms are met
- Contribute to process analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Handle multiple time-sensitive tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Uphold high ethical standards and demonstrate strong financial responsibility
- Work flexible schedules, including after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and make data-driven recommendations
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills
- Strong process analysis and continuous improvement abilities
- Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced, operational environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business/ERP/MRP systems

- Ability to make recommendations based on data and analysis
- Self-directed and able to meet deadlines in an environment of changing priorities
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: Experience in Supply Chain Management, airline or MRO procurement
- Preferred: Knowledge of accounting, finance, AP/AR, purchasing, inventory control, and materials management
- Preferred: Green Belt in Lean or Six Sigma
- Preferred: Strong negotiation skills and ability to work in complex, stressful environments
- Preferred: Knowledge of procurement of goods and services and working with suppliers/vendors
