Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Co-Op for our Antigen Production Unit III at the St. Joseph, Gene Field facility.

You will gain hands-on experience with bacterial fermentation operations in the manufacturing of animal biological products, contributing to early vaccine production steps. As a Co-Op, you will work under GMP in a cleanroom setting, read schedules and procedures, and assist in troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
• Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of a co-op.
• GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale preferred.
• Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow schedules, procedures, and documents in a GMP environment
• Perform aseptic processes, fully gowned in a clean room environment
• Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment
• Complete aseptic gowning successfully and the ASTA program successfully
• Perform calculations and conversions involving weights, volumes, and percentages

As a Co-Op, you will get practical experience in bacterial fermentation operations in the manufacturing of high-quality biological products. Students will be exposed to real-life bacterial and cell production showing them the beginning of the vaccine production process for animals.

• Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.


• Major or minor in related field of a co-op.


• Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.


• Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.


• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).


• Must be 18 years of age or older.
