Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a talented Co-Op to join our Antigen Production Unit III at the St. Joseph, Gene Field facility. As a Co-Op, you will gain practical experience in bacterial fermentation operations within vaccine production processes for animals.

You will work in a GMP environment, perform aseptic processes, assist with equipment maintenance, and handle calculations. Eligibility includes being enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with GPA 3.0 and completing required

Qualifications

• Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
• Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of a co-op.
• Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
• Major or minor in related field of a co-op.
• Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.
• Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.

Responsibilities

• Read schedules, procedures and documents in a GMP environment.
• Perform aseptic processes, fully gowned in a clean room environment.
• Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment.
• Complete aseptic gowning successfully and the ASTA program successfully.
• Perform calculations and conversions involving weights, volumes, and percentages.

As a Co-Op, you will get practical experience in bacterial fermentation operations in the manufacturing of high-quality biological products. Students will be exposed to real-life bacterial and cell production showing them the beginning of the vaccine production process for animals.
