DESCRIPTION

Art Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide daily instruction for students in accordance with Board approved curriculum. Seeking a Middle School Art teacher to teach appropriate Art courses at Franklin Middle School. This candidate should be proficient in Drawing, 2‑D Art, and Ceramics. Highly qualified candidates will be able to work collaboratively with the Fine, Visual, and Performing Arts Department and assist in teaching and designing all Art programs and offerings at FMS.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate New Jersey Certification required: Teacher of Art
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
• Successful Criminal History Clearance
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

10‑Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable collective negotiations agreement.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 25/26 SY is Step 1 BA/BS ($63,277) – Step 18 PhD/EdD ($97,380). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.

Annual Evaluation

Performance is reviewed annually in accordance with NJ State law and the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluations for certificated staff.

Technology Skills

Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited to Google Suite, IEP software program and the Genesis Employee Portal and Student Information System.
