Job summary

Morris County Vocational School District is seeking an Evening Custodian for a 12‑month, full‑time role with a 3–11 p.m. shift. The position, anticipated to begin January 4, 2027, involves preventive building maintenance and routine cleaning tasks across school facilities.

The ideal candidate has a general knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; a Black Seal License is preferred or must be obtained within two years. Training is provided if no prior experience is required.

Responsibilities

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

12 month full-time position: EveningShift (3 – 11 p.m.); available January 4, 2027

QUALIFICATIONS:

General knowledge of cleaning and sanitary methods, materials, tools, and school-related equipment. Black Seal License preferred or must be obtained within two years of employment. No experience necessary; will train.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preventive maintenance of building and grounds area, sweeping, dusting, damp mopping, scrubbing, washing, cleaning, buffing, disposing of refuse, clean walkways, snow removal, opening and securing buildings and any other duties assigned by the HeadCustodianor supervisory personnel.

COMPENSATION:

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $43,720 to $58,035. This position is also eligible for a retirement plan, sick, personal, bereavement, and family illness days.
