Job summary

Verona Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, collaborative special education teacher for an anticipated leave of absence. This 100% in-class support (ICR) position involves co-teaching with general education teachers to help students with IEPs access the general education curriculum and progress toward their goals.

The role requires a valid New Jersey TOSD certificate (CE/CEAS/TOH acceptable) and experience with co-teaching.

Qualifications

• Experience with co-teaching and in-class support models is preferred.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills are required.
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction, UDL, and data-driven decision-making is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-plan and co-teach with general education partners using models such as station, parallel, and team teaching.
• Implement IEP modifications, accommodations, and specially designed instruction in the general education classroom.
• Differentiate instruction and adapt materials, assessments, and assignments to meet individual student needs.
• Monitor and record student progress toward IEP goals and objectives; complete progress reports on schedule.
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, annual reviews, and Child Study Team conferences as needed.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians, case managers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals.
• Support positive behavior and implement behavior intervention plans where applicable.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with district policy, state regulations, and confidentiality requirements.

• Successful completion of a criminal history background check, per New Jersey law

This is a per diem position with a salary range of $300-$314 per diem.
