Job summary

LEMONT BROMBEREK COMBINED SCHOOL DISTRICT 113A is seeking a Full-time Payroll Specialist to administer and process biweekly payroll for all district staff, and to maintain accurate employee records. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Skyward Qmlativ and have at least three years of experience in a school district business office or similar environment.

Knowledge of TRS/IMRF reporting and FMLA administration is preferred.

Qualifications

  • School district payroll experience required.
  • Proficient in Skyward Qmlativ required.
  • At least three years of experience in a school district business office or similar payroll/finance environment.
  • Knowledge of TRS and IMRF reporting preferred.
  • Knowledge of and ability to process and manage FMLA requests and other payroll-related leave processes accurately.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processing, and state/federal reporting requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and employment laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, analyzing data, and developing reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google platforms, and financial software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support staff payroll questions and deadlines.
  • Able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and process biweekly payroll for all school district staff.
  • Maintain and audit employee records to ensure accurate payroll data.
  • Manage employee benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement, FMLA, and other leave programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and benefit providers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to payroll and benefits.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and assist with annual audits.
  • Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries from employees and administration.
