Job summary

Amentum is seeking a skilled Carpenter for a Seasonal Contract to support the National Science Foundation’s United States Antarctic Program. You will perform rough framing, finish carpentry, and related tasks in remote environments under supervision of the Foreman and Facilities Supervisor.

Work will involve outdoor duties in extreme cold, travel to McMurdo or Palmer stations, adherence to SOPs, safety programs, and accurate timekeeping.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum four years of documented carpentry experience, including rough framing and finish carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough framing and finish carpentry using a variety of materials and tools.
• Perform construction tasks in undeveloped or remote areas and in adverse conditions.
• Track material usage and update inventory records.
• Coordinate materials and support from other departments.
• Handle tasks requiring heavy lifting and physical exertion.
• Respond to emergency service calls during and outside normal hours.
• Document hours worked, tasks performed, and materials used.
