Job summary

Gana-A'Yoo Services Corporation (GSC) seeks a Waste Stream Coordinator for Austral Summer at South Pole Station, Antarctica. Duties include waste collection, processing and loading for shipment, operation of heavy equipment, and support to the Spill Team.

You will work outdoors most of the time and adhere to ASC safety and QA standards. Requirements include remote-site living experience, equipment operation, and the ability to deploy to Antarctica for the contract length; US citizenship or

Experience living on remote job site
Equipment operating experience
Familiarity with power tools and machinery
Able to stand for up to 12 hours daily
Must pass physical qualification assessment
Able to deploy to Antarctica for length of contract
Possible travel to spill school within the US

Responsibilities

Collect, process, and load solid waste and recyclables for shipment to Port Hueneme, CA on the annual shipping vessel
Operate front-end loaders, skid steers, articulating forklift, balers, and industrial tub wood grinder
Perform truck weigh station duties during vessel operations
Regularly use cargo straps, banding, pallet jacks, and power tools
Provide ancillary support to station Spill Team and after-hours/possible night shift duties
Maintain safety and quality assurance as per ASC requirements
Work in a diverse, dynamic team and in outdoor settings ~70% of the time
