Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Telecom Cable Plant Engineer to join the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) team supporting USAP. The role designs, documents, and manages ISP/OSP cable plant and the Cable Management System, ensuring data accuracy and SOP compliance.

Qualifications

• Design, engineer, and document telecom cable plant (ISP/OSP) for USAP.
• Maintain Cable Management System data accuracy and QA.
• Develop SOPs for cable management and data validation.
• Provide Cable Management System training to authorized staff.
• Deployment to Antarctica is required for 12–16 weeks annually.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that work areas meet all ASC and USAP safety standards.
• Maintain a safe workplace program and prioritize safety.
• Design, engineer, and implement telecom systems that meet enterprise requirements.
• Manage the Cable Management System: Patch Manager.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with telecom systems.
• Survey ISP and OSP cable for inclusion in Cable Management System.
• Input cable and equipment data into the Cable Management System.
• Coordinate updates to telecom infrastructure records from projects.
• Provide Cable Management System training to staff and customers.
• Develop Cable Management System workflows and SOPs.
• Stay up to date with telecom advancements and recommend upgrades.
• Prepare technical documentation of telecom systems.
