Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Telecom Cable Plant Engineer to join the USAP team, designing and documenting all cable plant (ISP/OSP) for USAP enterprises and upgrades across Antarctic stations. Deployment to Antarctica is required 12–16 weeks/year, with US Citizenship and Public Trust clearance prerequisites.

The role emphasizes data management within the Cable Management System, SOPs, and ensuring compliance with enterprise standards while collaborating with the USAP telecommunications team.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of telecom design/engineering experience.
• 1+ year of data management experience.
• Experience with Cable Management database systems and telecom wiring standards.
• Familiarity with telecom test equipment including OTDRs.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and implement telecom systems that meet enterprise requirements.
• Manage the Cable Management System: Patch Manager.
• Input and validate data for cables and equipment in the Cable Management System.
• Develop and update Cable Management System workflows and SOPs.
• Coordinate data gathering from projects and sustaining operations for accuracy.
