Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support Palmer Station, Antarctica. The role provides professional customer service, ensures accurate data entry, and handles receiving, inventory management, and cargo handling for ASC and NSF materials.

Responsibilities include maintaining manifests, using Maximo for inventory and shipping records, generating reports, coordinating with partners, and assisting with long-shore operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years’ experience in inventory, warehousing, or logistics.
• Experience with forklifts, hand trucks and other lifting devices preferred.
• Familiarity with Maximo inventory and shipping modules is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees packaging, crating, and documentation for all northbound cargo.
• Maintains preliminary north-bound manifest.
• Interacts with ASC Departments, Grantees, and Subcontractors to ensure timely arrival of material.
• Oversees quality assurance during cargo movement and container loading.
• Maintains Maximo inventory and shipping data.
• Receives, stores and issues materials; conducts data entry in ERP.
• Researches and provides WODS reports for discrepancies.
• Produces standard and custom reports for ASC departments within MAXIMO.
• Participates in long-shore cargo handling with containers and hazardous cargo.
• Participates in onsite emergency response team trainings.
• Coordinates with Grantees for receiving and movement of mission-critical material.
• Fields cargo queries and troubleshoots Logistics-related issues.
• Operates heavy equipment to load/unload cargo.
• Works outdoors in inclement weather; climbs ladders.
• Supports after-hours operations.
• Maintains Palmer Station SDS library.
• Maintains warehouse and Outside Storage Area.
• Other duties as assigned.
