Job summary

Truist in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise platforms across cloud, network, databases, storage, and middleware. You will lead automation, CI/CD, and AI-assisted remediation to improve reliability and performance.

You will mentor engineers, guide architecture, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate to adopt new technologies across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware.
• Experience with Ansible Automation Platform and YAML/Jinja2 playbooks.
• Experience building AI-assisted remediation workflows and GenAI-integrated automation.
• Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD, pipeline templates, and SAST/SCA/secrets scans.
• Experience with Artifactory, SonarQube, and policy-as-code concepts.
• Understanding of REST APIs, Git workflows, Podman, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Scripting in Python and Bash; IaC and OpenTelemetry experience.
• Familiarity with regulated environments and in-office Truist requirements.

Job description

• Design, build, and implement enterprise infrastructure technology platforms and systems across cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware domains
• Apply automation, monitoring, and optimization techniques to ensure infrastructure high availability and performance
• Manage infrastructure engineering projects and processes aligned with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to integrate new technologies and improve infrastructure standards and processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues affecting infrastructure performance and reliability
• Support compliance with technology strategies, standards, and governance
• Review and guide infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures
• Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level technical professionals
• Develop technical solutions through deep analysis of infrastructure systems and lead infrastructure processes
• Operate and enhance enterprise automation, CI/CD, and AI-enabled development platforms
• Build reusable automation frameworks, golden-path templates, workflows, observability practices, and scalable automation solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware
• Strong proficiency with Ansible Automation Platform, including YAML/Jinja2 playbook authoring, RBAC, automation mesh, credential management, and Event-Driven Ansible
• Experience building AI-assisted remediation workflows and GenAI-integrated automation patterns
• Hands‑on experience with GitLab CI/CD, pipeline template design, runner configuration, protected branch enforcement, and SAST/SCA/secrets scan gate management
• Experience with JFrog Artifactory repository administration, tagging policies, artifact promotion workflows, and SonarQube quality gates
• Understanding of REST APIs, Git-based source control workflows, Podman, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code, policy‑as‑code, and AI‑assisted code generation patterns
• Expertise with OpenTelemetry, including custom instrumentation, collector configuration, and observability pipeline design
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, security hardening, RBAC design, and system performance tuning
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
• Proficiency in GitLab CI/CD pipeline authoring and security scanning integration
• Working knowledge of Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform
• Experience with OPA and policy‑as‑code patterns
• Infrastructure‑as‑code competency in Terraform or equivalent, with deployment experience in Azure and/or AWS
• Experience in regulated financial services, healthcare, or government environments preferred
• Must be located in or willing to self‑relocate to Charlotte, N.C. or Atlanta, G.A.
• Must meet Truist’s in‑office requirements
• English language fluency required
