Job description

Alaska Northstar Resources is seeking an Appian Developer to join our team on a hybrid remote basis. Occasional travel will be required for team meetings and training.

The Appian Developer will play a crucial role in platform application development, requirements gathering, testing, and remediation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Development, configuration, and establishment of complex Appian functionalities.
  2. Participating in backlog refinements to provide insights on acceptance criteria.
  3. Contributing to the design of mission-critical Appian capabilities while adhering to best practices.
  4. Supporting data modeling and testing.
  5. Collaborating with product owners and business analysts to understand and refine user stories, adding detailed technical acceptance criteria, and ensuring quality and completeness.
  6. Estimating effort and complexity for user stories and tasks during sprint planning.
  7. Designing, developing, and implementing complex Appian capabilities, data records/models, and functionalities following best practices.
  8. Driving design review, code review, and development best practices.
  9. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Appian applications and integrations.
  10. Participating in knowledge sharing sessions and contributing to internal documentation and training materials.
  11. Providing testing support, including creating test cases and identifying testing needs.
  12. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers and QA engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.
  13. Staying updated with the latest Appian features, tools, and industry trends.
  14. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the continuous enhancement of development practices.

Requirements

  1. Active Top-Secret clearance.
  2. U.S. Citizenship.
  3. Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  4. Appian Senior Developer Certification (or higher).
  5. At least 10 years of relevant industry experience in:
  • Appian platform application development and complex functionalities.
  • Appian testing methodologies, features, and best practices.
  • Appian architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Appian SAIL, process modeling, and integration capabilities.
  • Relational databases, SQL, and web services (REST/SOAP).
  • Mentoring and leading development teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Navigation of BA Workflow, Agile Scrum, and Project Management tools (Jira, MS Project, etc.).
  • Understanding of Waterfall, Agile Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.

Additional Information

Office environment. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only approved expenses will be covered.
