Job summary

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. in California seeks a detail-oriented Coating Technician I/II to anodize aluminum parts through phosphoric acid processes and perform alodining, finishing, and related steps to meet customer and internal quality standards.

You will wire parts to racks, operate PAA room equipment, maintain logs, monitor tanks, handle hazardous chemicals safely, and support 5S and continuous-improvement initiatives in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year hands-on relevant experience.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance on the system.
• Basic math skills (Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Percentage).
• Willingness to train/learn to work in other departments as required.
• Knowledge of metal coating processes, chemicals and materials.
• Must be able to wear a respirator as required.

Responsibilities

• Process aluminum parts through phosphoric acid anodizing and alodining, primer and paint operations.
• Wire objects to rack and immerse in cleaning, etching, and rinsing baths.
• Operate PAA Room equipment such as oven, pressure washer, spray booth, spray gun and crane.
• Complete traveler records and maintain logs.
• Fill and test tanks for appropriate concentration.
• Bond and cut test coupons for pull testing.
• Handle, store and dispose of chemicals per regulations.
• Inspect finished products for non-conformance.
• Maintain tank fluid levels and monitor operation.
• Comply with environmental regulations and 5S standards.
• Wear proper PPE and follow safety rules; may work in other departments.
