Job description

Modern Woodmen of America is seeking a customer-focused professional with knowledge of retirement savings products to join our team as an Annuity Analyst. In this role, you will support our field representatives, members, and employers by processing new business and service requests for qualified and non-qualified annuities, including both fixed and variable products. You'll play a key role in delivering outstanding service while ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing.

Modern Woodmen of America is one of the nation’s largest fraternal benefit societies, with over $18 billion assets. Fraternals are unique membership organizations that pair the “member-owned” characteristic of a mutual insurance company with the “social mission” characteristic of a service organization. They unite individuals with common bonds, provide a variety of life insurance and investment products, and form one of the nation’s most effective volunteer networks.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze non-qualified and qualified annuity applications and perform data entry for new business and changes for both variable and non-variable applications.
  • Perform 1035 exchanges for non-qualified annuities and correspond with the financial institution being replaced to obtain annuity funds.
  • Update, review and maintain Salary Allotment Plan file. Ensure plan eligibility and guidelines are maintained along with creating, updating, and maintaining manual and computer records as required.
  • Process transfers and rollovers received from other financial providers to assist in expediting exchange of assets. Correspond with financial provider being replaced to obtain necessary funds.
  • Receive and service a wide variety of telephone calls from our field force, members and employers regarding qualified plans and annuity products.
  • Review correspondence received concerning Modern Woodmen’s qualified plans and deferred annuity to determine the appropriate action.
  • Remain current on new and existing tax laws surrounding qualified plans.
  • Assist in the development of new systems to help streamline and create efficiencies within the department.
  • Attend webinars, conference calls and conferences throughout the year to keep up to date on product and industry trends, changes in rules and regulations, and administration processing.

  • A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building positive relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • A passion for continuous learning and a desire to expand knowledge of annuity products, retirement planning, and the financial services industry.
