Annual Giving Manager

PURPOSE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Annual Giving Manager plays a vital role in helping Meals on Wheels Greenville fulfill its mission by inspiring generosity throughout the community. Through meaningful relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, sponsors, and emerging philanthropists, this position helps secure the financial support that allows homebound neighbors and others to receive nourishment, independence, and meaningful human connection.

The Annual Giving Manager leads annual giving initiatives, cultivates corporate partnerships, oversees signature fundraising events, and manages the Meals on Wheels Greenville Young Professionals program. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a passion for connecting people with opportunities to make a lasting impact in the community.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a full-time, exempt position responsible for growing annual philanthropic support through donor cultivation, corporate engagement, fundraising events, and community partnerships.

Working collaboratively with the Director of Development, Chief of Advancement, and Development team, the Annual Giving Manager develops strategies that strengthen donor relationships, increase annual revenue, and create meaningful opportunities for individuals and organizations to invest in the mission of Meals on Wheels Greenville.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Annual Giving & Donor Stewardship
  • Partner with the Director of Development to develop and execute annual giving strategies that increase donor participation and revenue.
  • Support individual giving initiatives by helping identify cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for donors with increased giving potential.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors through thoughtful relationship management and personalized engagement.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, portfolios, notes, and stewardship plans within the donor database.
  • Conduct donor research and support prospect identification, tracking, and moves management efforts.
Corporate & Community Partnerships
  • Develop, cultivate, and steward relationships with corporate sponsors and community partners that increase financial support and strengthen mission engagement.
  • Manage corporate sponsor relationships, ensuring thoughtful stewardship and fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
  • Identify opportunities to grow corporate and community support through networking, outreach, and relationship-building.
  • Collaborate with Volunteer Services to connect volunteer engagement with donor cultivation and build long‑term relationships with community partners.
Fundraising Events & Young Professionals
  • Plan and execute signature fundraising events, including responsibility for revenue goals, sponsorships, logistics, tracking, and reporting.
  • Monitor event performance and identify opportunities to improve participation, revenue, and community engagement.
  • Lead the Meals on Wheels Greenville Young Professionals program by growing membership and creating meaningful opportunities for fundraising, volunteerism, networking, and mission involvement.
  • Build relationships with emerging community leaders and encourage their continued engagement with Meals on Wheels Greenville.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Director of Development, Chief of Advancement, and Development team to support annual revenue goals and broader fundraising strategies.
  • Collaborate across departments to strengthen the connection between fundraising, volunteer engagement, events, and community outreach.
  • Lead projects and process improvements from planning through completion.
  • Support special initiatives and other organizational priorities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of annual giving, donor cultivation, stewardship, sponsorships, and fundraising best practices.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational, project management, and follow‑through skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and close attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, presentation, and public‑speaking skills.
  • Self‑motivated and comfortable taking initiative while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Ability to lead processes from inception through implementation and completion.
  • Comfortable communicating with and supporting senior leadership.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding donor, client, volunteer, and organizational information.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Three to five years of nonprofit annual giving, fundraising, development, or related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices required.
  • Experience cultivating donors, managing sponsorships, coordinating fundraising events, or leading community engagement initiatives preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant donor‑management or fundraising software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer and on the telephone for the majority of the workday.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by phone and in person with donors, volunteers, staff, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to attend meetings, events, and community activities outside the office as needed.
