At the YMCA of Greenville, we strengthen our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Our Development team plays a key role in advancing this mission by securing resources, cultivating relationships, and driving philanthropic impact. We are seeking passionate and skilled fundraising professionals to join our growing team in a variety of roles focused on major gifts, grants, donor stewardship, and annual giving.

Primary Essential Functions

As a member of our Development team, you will:

  • Fundraising & Revenue Generation – Develop and implement strategies to secure philanthropic support through major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and annual giving campaigns.
  • Donor & Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain relationships with donors, funders, and community partners through personalized stewardship, recognition, and engagement opportunities.
  • Grant Management & Impact Reporting – Identify, write, and manage grant proposals; ensure compliance, timely reporting, and alignment of funding with program outcomes.
  • Campaign & Event Support – Collaborate on special events, donor cultivation opportunities, and community engagement initiatives to enhance visibility and support.
  • Database & Data Integrity – Maintain accurate donor records, track interactions, and generate reports using donor management systems.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration – Partner with program, marketing, and leadership teams to align fundraising strategies with organizational priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, or related development work.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising or grant revenue goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor materials and presentations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Beneficial Skills & Experience

  • Experience in major gift solicitation and relationship management.
  • Knowledge of grant funding research tools and processes.
  • Event planning and donor stewardship program experience.
  • Understanding of nonprofit financials and philanthropic trends.
