Job summary

United Way of Weld County is seeking an Annual Giving & Stewardship Manager to lead donor cultivation and stewardship efforts. You will develop and evaluate multi-channel campaigns, collaborate with leadership and marketing, and drive donor engagement through data-driven strategies.

You will manage a portfolio of annual donors, partner on major gifts, and design stewardship experiences that strengthen long-term relationships with supporters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in fundraising, annual giving, donor relations, stewardship, nonprofit development, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success in donor engagement, relationship management, and fundraising strategy execution.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive annual giving strategy focused on donor acquisition, retention, reactivation, and upgrades.
  • Manage multi-channel fundraising campaigns including direct mail, digital giving, Giving Tuesday and year-end appeals.
  • Partner with Chief Development Officer to set annual fundraising goals, metrics, and implementation plans.
  • Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies to improve donor participation.
  • Lead donor stewardship programs for Leadership Givers, Monfort Society, and Legacy Leaders.

Job Overview

The Annual Giving & Stewardship Manager reports to the Chief Development Officer and is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating United Way of Weld County's annual giving and donor stewardship strategies. This position leads efforts to acquire, retain, upgrade, and engage donors through multi-channel fundraising campaigns, meaningful stewardship experiences, donor communications, and relationship‑building activities. Working closely with the Chief Development Officer, development team, and marketing and communications staff, the Annual Giving & Stewardship Manager uses data‑driven strategies to strengthen donor participation, enhance the donor experience, and build a sustainable pipeline of future major donors. The position serves as the primary relationship manager for annual donors and plays a key role in fostering a culture of philanthropy that advances United Way's mission and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Annual Giving Strategy & Campaign Management
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive annual giving strategy focused on donor acquisition, retention, reactivation, and upgrades.
  • Manage multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, digital giving, Giving Tuesday, year‑end appeals, annual campaign initiatives, and other annual fundraising efforts.
  • Partner with the Chief Development Officer to establish annual fundraising goals, performance metrics, and implementation plans.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend strategic adjustments to improve donor participation and philanthropic support.
  • Analyze donor trends, giving patterns, and campaign outcomes to inform fundraising strategies and strengthen donor engagement.
  • Manage a portfolio of annual donors with an emphasis on retention, engagement, and increased philanthropic investment.
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and advance annual donors with major gift potential.
  • Partner with Director of Communications to develop compelling fundraising appeals and donor‑centered messaging.
Donor Stewardship & Relations
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive donor stewardship strategy that strengthens donor engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
  • In collaboration with the development team, manage stewardship and engagement strategies for Leadership Givers ($500+), Kenneth W. Monfort Society ($10,000+), and Legacy Leaders (planned gift and endowment commitments).
  • Design and oversee donor recognition programs, giving societies, appreciation initiatives, and donor engagement opportunities.
  • Establish stewardship standards and procedures to ensure meaningful, timely, and personalized donor engagement.
  • Coordinate stewardship communications, impact reporting, donor acknowledgements, and recognition activities in partnership with the Executive & Development Operations Manager.
  • Develop stewardship touchpoints that demonstrate the impact of donor investments and strengthen long‑term relationships.
  • Coordinate donor recognition across organizational communications, reports, events, publications, digital platforms, and other engagement opportunities.
  • Ensure donor records accurately reflect recognition preferences, engagement history, and stewardship activities in collaboration with CRM administration.
  • Collaborate with Director of Communications to develop stewardship materials, donor stories, impact reports, and recognition opportunities.
  • Create opportunities for donors across all giving societies to engage with United Way's mission and understand the impact of their philanthropic investment.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging annual giving and stewardship best practices.
United Way of Weld County General
  • Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of United Way, including representing United Way in professional organizations and the community (as assigned).
  • Support fundraising efforts of United Way and activities that support United Way.
  • Support United Way annual events, disaster response, and other activities as assigned.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in service opportunities.
  • Contribute to organizational promotions including writing promotional copy, proofreading informational and campaign materials, participation in outreach, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Position Information
  • Full‑time (40 hours) non‑exempt.
  • Salary Range H9: 26.20‑31.31.
  • Supervisory duties: None.
  • Reports to: Chief Development Officer.
  • Eligible for remote work: Yes, limited remote after 90 days of employment with supervisors’ approval.
  • Background check required.
