Job summary

Luminis Health seeks an Annual Fund Officer to lead comprehensive annual giving campaigns for the AAMC and DCMC Foundations. You will develop multichannel donor communications to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors, collaborating with philanthropy, marketing, clinical, and operational teams.

You will drive donor-centric initiatives, manage campaigns, segment audiences, and help build a sustainable pipeline for future major gifts, supporting over $1 million in annual revenue.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in annual giving or donor engagement.
  • Experience coordinating direct mail and multichannel fundraising campaigns.
  • Experience managing employee giving programs and grateful patient fundraising.
  • Strong project management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Raiser's Edge NXT, Salesforce, or similar CRM.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual employee giving campaign and engage leadership.
  • Coordinate the Grateful Patient Program with IS, Privacy, and Advancement Services.
  • Develop campaign calendars and project plans for timely execution.
  • Create fundraising content and donor communications with Marketing.
  • Monitor performance and analyze metrics to boost revenue.
  • Segment donors for targeted communications.
  • Support donor stewardship and impact reporting.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices and new fundraising technologies.
  • Assist with foundation events and engagement opportunities.

Job description

Position Objective

Reporting to the Manager, Annual Giving & Donor Engagement, the Annual Fund Officer is responsible for planning and executing annual giving initiatives that inspire broad-based philanthropic support for the Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) Foundation and Doctors Community Medical Center (DCMC) Foundation.

This position plays a key role in building a culture of philanthropy across Luminis Health by developing and implementing comprehensive annual fund strategies, including community, employee, and grateful patient giving, supported by multichannel donor communications designed to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors.

Working collaboratively with philanthropy, marketing, clinical, and operational teams, the Annual Fund Officer executes donor-centric fundraising campaigns that strengthen donor engagement, increase unrestricted and restricted annual giving, and build a sustainable pipeline for future major gifts. The Annual Fund Officer helps support more than $1 million in revenue through annual and special giving programs.

  1. Plans and executes comprehensive annual fund campaigns for the AAMC Foundation and DCMC Foundation, including direct mail, email, digital, and integrated fundraising appeals.
  2. Manages the annual employee giving campaign by partnering with Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, and organizational leadership to maximize employee participation and philanthropic engagement. Coordinates a system-wide employee volunteer committee that engages individuals at all levels of the organization to build awareness, energy, and participation.
  3. Coordinates and supports the Foundations' Grateful Patient Program by collaborating with Information Systems, Privacy, and Advancement Services to identify, solicit, and steward grateful patients and families.
  4. Develops campaign calendars and project plans to ensure the timely execution of annual giving initiatives.
  5. Creates compelling fundraising content, appeal letters, stewardship messaging, and donor communications in partnership with the Luminis Health Marketing and Communications team.
  6. Monitors campaign performance and analyzes key metrics, making recommendations to improve donor acquisition, retention, participation, and revenue.
  7. Manages donor segmentation and audience selection to ensure targeted and personalized fundraising communications.
  8. Works closely with the Giving Team and Advancement Services to maintain a robust donor pipeline through clearly defined protocols for major and planned gift prospect development and transition.
  9. Coordinates with Advancement Services to ensure accurate gift processing, donor coding, reporting, and campaign tracking.
  10. Collaborates with Major Gift Officers to identify annual donors with major gift potential and facilitate donor pipeline development.
  11. Assists with donor stewardship efforts that reinforce annual giving participation, including acknowledgement strategies, impact reporting, and donor recognition communications.
  12. Maintains knowledge of annual giving best practices, fundraising trends, and emerging technologies to continually enhance fundraising effectiveness.
  13. Supports Foundation events and engagement opportunities that promote annual giving and donor participation, as needed.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible experience in annual giving, fundraising, direct marketing, donor engagement, nonprofit development, or a related field.
  • Experience planning and executing direct mail and multichannel fundraising campaigns preferred.
  • Experience managing employee giving campaigns and/or grateful patient fundraising programs preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, with experience interpreting fundraising results and campaign performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and donor databases such as Raiser's Edge NXT, Salesforce, or a comparable constituent relationship management system.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaborative relationships across departments.
  • Passion for philanthropy and Luminis Health's mission to enhance the health of the communities it serves.
  • Familiarity with Anne Arundel County, Prince George's County, the Eastern Shore, and surrounding communities preferred.
Pay Range

$85,000 — $110,000 USD
