Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. in Reading, PA is hiring an Annealing Operator to process products meeting customer specs with safety first.

The role starts with 8 weeks of paid training on the first shift at $21.70/hour, followed by entry into the bonus pool with earnings climbing by $4+ per hour and potential to reach higher rates. After training, employees may bid on other operator roles; third shift adds $1.25/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanically and mathematically inclined.
• Able to use computer operations.
• Able to learn how to read a micrometer.
• Frequent standing, bending, stooping, gripping.
• Frequent walking.
• Some lifting and carrying short distances (40 lbs).
• Manual dexterity needed to perform activities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform computations.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
• Assist the operator process with the customer order to completion from the mill card specifications.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety regulations while in the plant.
• Comply with the Wieland Heyco Quality System and work instruction documents.
• Review the mill card prior to processing and understand the customer requirements.
• Assist at the assigned slitting machines and help with productivity.
• Handle material from slitting to shipping in the following manner: Banding, Skidding, Weighing, Identifying, Returning material to stock as necessary
• Complete all quality checks and to enter the required information onto the mill card.
• Comply with the Heyco Quality System at all times during processing.
• Keep the work area clean.

Wieland is hiring a Annealing Operator. The Annealing Operator will be responsible for Processing products which meet or exceed customer specifications at an acceptable productivity level. With safety at the forefront, this person will train for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks of training at either slitting line, the employee must complete High Risk Training to graduate to "A Rate" General Labor Pool and start to earn the bonus. This role is located in Reading, PAand will be fully on-site.

Pay & Growth Opportunities

• Start strong: 8 weeks of paid training on first shift at $21.70/hour
• Boost your pay: After training, enter the bonus pool, earning $4.00+ more per hour
• Earn more: In 8 weeks earn more than $25.00 and in 8 months, many employees reach up to $27.00/hour + shift differentials
• Shift options: 3rd shift 11:00 pm - 7:00 am (+$1.25/hr)
