Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher and one year of animal welfare experience.
• Experience includes companion pet care (excluding personal pets), husbandry, or animal training.

Responsibilities

• canvasses assigned areas to locate animals in violation and impounds them; investigates complaints and enforces animal regulations.
• Captures biting, vicious, diseased, loose or stray animals with nets or restraints and transports to impound facilities.
• Prepares impoundment reports and maintains records; verifies licenses and rabies vaccinations.
• Conducts animal cruelty and nuisance investigations; issues warnings or citations and presents cases in court.
• Represents department in media engagements and public outreach; assists in press releases and PSA materials.
