Military, Veterans and Diverse Job Seekers is seeking an Animal Control Officer to enforce local animal ordinances and respond to complaints within city limits. You will patrol, apprehend animals, and assist the public with adoptions and paperwork, while maintaining records and interacting with the community.

The role requires handling animals humanely, performing shelter duties, and supporting wildlife removals.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency plus one (1) year of relevant experience that includes animal care, control, and/or handling.
• Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Receive and respond to animal complaints; patrol for unlicensed animals.
• Apprehend diseased or injured animals; determine ownership.
• Assist public with adoptions and redemptions; complete paperwork.
• Provide humane treatment and care; move animals to clean cages.
• Maintain shelter and pound; perform cleaning and minor repairs.
• Remove wild animals from residences and businesses; set traps where needed.
• Dispose of dead animals; transport to shelter freezer and landfill.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles; service traps and cages.
• Flexible hours; evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
