Job summary

The Animal Care Center of NYC is seeking a Placement Transporter to safely and promptly move animals between ACC and New Hope partners across New York State. The role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a large van, with occasional shelter support and weekend mobile events.

When not transporting, you will assist with adoptions, field placements, and loading/unloading animals, contributing to the organization’s mission to end animal homelessness in NYC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A valid driver's license in good standing held for at least one year.
• Treat animals and people with respect and employ humane handling techniques whenever possible.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Transport animals safely and in a timely manner from ACC to New Hope partners across New York State and nearby areas.
• Operate and maintain a large transport van; ensure paperwork and medication accompany animals.
• Assist with adoptions in shelter and at mobile events when not transporting.
• Load and unload animals at ACC facilities and during transfers.
• Communicate with New Hope staff, field staff, and supervisors about daily transports and routes.
• Maintain organized route sheets and follow Fear Free handling techniques at all times.
• Occasionally support other placement efforts and participate in community outreach.
