Job description

Schedule:

40 hours per week, with some weekend availability. Weekend hours are sporadic but may include several consecutive days as needed. Support during weekends would involve 5-6 hours each day (Saturday and Sunday). Time off during the week can be taken when working weekends.

Must Haves:

1. Hands-on experience in rodent animal handling and in-life measurements.
2. Hands-on experience with bleeding and sample collection.
3. Dosing animals via various routes including PO, IP, and SC.

Purpose:

• Perform high-level animal handling, dosing, sample collection, and data recording.
• Provide technical assistance to research projects in the rodent facility.

Relationships:

• Reports to the Director, IN vivo Pharmacology.
• Collaborates with technical and scientific team members, Laboratory Animal Sciences staff, Lab Operations, Research Associates, and Research Scientists both locally and globally.

Essential Functions:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in animal science or lab support.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Hands-on experience with rodent handling, in-life measurements, bleeding, sample collection, and dosing via PO, IP, and SC routes.
• Perform and record daily food and health checks on pharmacology studies.
• Experience in animal anesthesia and euthanasia.
• Monitor post-procedural and post-surgical status.
• Collect samples and data accurately.
• Perform necropsy and tissue collection.
• Maintain adequate stock of animal care and research supplies.
• Assist with injection administration techniques.

Education:

Associates degree required.
