Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a dedicated team member to perform basic duties related to the daily preparation of clean cages in the animal facilities and general maintenance and upkeep.

Responsibilities include disassembling and assembling cages, loading and unloading cage wash machines, sterilizers, disinfection of supplies, and routine cleaning of the cage wash area. Shift is 7.5 hours; essential personnel role with potential weekend work.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required; must be able to communicate effectively with and relate to various personnel throughout the University.

Responsibilities

• Disassembling and emptying dirty cages.
• Loading and unloading cage components into cage wash machines.
• Loading and unloading sterilizers.
• Reassembling cage components.
• Disinfection of animal-related supplies prior to use.
• General cleaning and maintenance of cage wash machines and sterilizers.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
