Job summary

Prestige Hospital System in San Francisco is seeking a Consulting Animal Care Technician to join our veterinary team for small-animal care, primarily dogs, and client consulting. This entry-level role focuses on delivering high-quality health support and education.

You will perform routine check-ups, assist veterinarians, and maintain records while advising owners on preventive care. Flexibility to work weekends/holidays and ongoing professional development are expected.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary or animal healthcare setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of animal health and wellness, particularly in relation to small animals and dogs.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health conditions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to pet owners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in the use of veterinary software and technology.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to animal care.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
