Clear Creek County is seeking an Animal Care Associate to help with cleaning, feeding, and caring for all animals at the Clear Creek - Gilpin County Animal Shelter. You will support the Shelter Manager with daily operations and help maintain shelter grounds and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, animal handling, basic medical tasks, and assisting with records and impoundments as needed.

Competenze

• Comfortable working with all breeds of dogs and cats.
• Knowledge and experience with dog handling.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to read and follow feeding schedules and instructions.
• Ability to work with Shelter staff and respond to animal needs.

Mansioni

• Feed and water animals according to schedules and feeding instructions.
• Cleans and disinfects cages, pens, and yards.
• Maintain shelter grounds and surrounding areas.
• Keep walkways and dog kennels free of debris, snow, and ice.
• Operate laundry and keep facilities clean and orderly.
• Observe animals for illness or injury and treat as instructed.
• Transfer animals between quarters and assist with animal intake.
• Capture, medicate and document medications as prescribed.
• Unload and store feed and supplies; transport to veterinary visits.
• Assist with administrative tasks including records and data entry.
• Assist customers, Animal Control Officers, and other law enforcement during impoundment procedures.
