Qualifications

• High school grad or equivalent.
• One year animal care and one year customer service experience.
• Equivalent combo of education and experience accepted.
• Veterinary Technician experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform intake exams as animals enter the shelter.
• Monitor animals daily for medical or behavioral issues.
• Perform euthanasia as required.
• Ensure animals have proper food and water.
• Administer vaccines according to shelter protocols, once certified.
• Accurate computer data entry and record keeping.
• Support shelter management to meet dept. goals.
• Follow cleaning protocols to keep kennels clean and organized.
• Transfer animals in the system to welfare agencies as needed.
• Work with field staff during inspections and disaster training.
