Job summary
Beaufort County Animal Shelter is seeking an Animal Services Technician to ensure the health and well‑being of animals in our care. The role includes daily animal care, socialization, and maintaining clean kennels and records. You will assess incoming animals and contribute to their socialization and welfare.
Requirements include a 10th grade education and at least 1 year of animal care experience. A valid state driver’s license is required, and euthanasia certification must be obtained within 1
Qualifications
- Must have familiarity with basic animal care tasks and ability to observe health and behavior.
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures in an animal shelter.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain euthanasia certification within 1 year of hire.
Responsibilities
- Observe animals to assess health and behavior and determine immediate needs.
- Perform daily animal care: feeding, bathing, grooming, monitoring health, administering medications.
- Socialize animals and assist with assessment of socialization needs.
- Clean and disinfect kennels and common areas; monitor facility security.
- Maintain records and reports related to animal care and intake.
